'The Design hotspot. No matter how pricey they are, chalets tend to deal in standard-issue design. There’s usually a bit of fur, a lot of wood and, er, a pool table. Not at Chalet Sarcleret in Morzine, France, which has recently emerged from a quintessentially English country home makeover overseen by Nicole Salvesen of the interior design favourites Salvesen Graham. With enough room for 12 guests, it has been luring in the style set with patterned sofas that are perfect for sinking into after a long day on the slopes, patchwork throws, plates above the bath and a fireplace surrounded with tiles — meaning a week here will soon pay dividends in Instagram content.'
THE DESIGNER
Nicole Salvesen one half of London design studio, Salvesen Graham, known for designing classic, yet comfortable and practical, "Future Heritage" interiors by combining traditional character with modern sensibilities, layering textures and colors, and mixing antique and contemporary pieces to create timeless and curated spaces.
Nicole and her family fell in love with Morzine for its perfect blend of lively alpine charm and authentic Savoyard character. Surrounded by breathtaking mountains and with easy access to the Portes du Soleil, it quickly became a place where we felt at home and inspired by every season.
